Watching history unfold over the last two weeks has led to reflection, learning, and a strong desire to act. While more time is needed to process, we have concluded that we must do something to help move social justice forward. Every single one of us must do something to fight systemic racism and create change.
In these troubling times, the action we are taking is in line with creating a world with more inclusion and respect for others. Recognizing this is just a starting point, we commit to implement the following immediately:
We will evaluate all donations and investments to prioritize supporting marginalized communities, specifically those most impacted by climate change.
We will actively educate ourselves on race issues and have regular, open conversations about how we can do better to create equality.
For us, that work starts with education. We have a lot to learn. We have asked all of our employees to spend time learning and exploring their behavior and biases. The resources provided here, by the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture have been helpful to us, and we are sharing them here in hopes that they will benefit others who are ready to take time to learn.
