Behind the Scenes at ChicoBag HQ

It’s Day 1 at the new job. After a tour of the breakroom, the obligatory meet-and-greet with people whose names you’ve already forgotten, and all your new hire paperwork, your orientation is complete.

Or so you thought.

The last stop on your tour is the swag station, where you’re handed the following:

And that’s it! You’re now officially onboarded. At ChicoBag, we take planet protection seriously, beginning with the Mariana Trench of our ocean-friendly operations: our team. A typical first day really looks like the above: we equip our employees with the tools to say no to disposables and the promise to keep each other accountable to our shared mission. (Keep in mind: there’s definitely some good-natured mocking if a disposable cup appears in the office!)

ChicoBag and To-Go Ware HQ takes its cue from our pledge, with refillable cereal dispensers, coffee and kombucha on tap. There are recycling and compost containers, and each team member has an assigned washable towel in the restroom.

With Plastic-free Julynow in full swing for 2021, we wanted to share how to do things here at ChicoBag to inspire you personally or as a company to build your own planet-friendly kits to keep at the office or in your bag.
